A switch with a rotating drive for installation in a housing provided with a door which can pivot has an operating element which is to be mounted on the door such that it can pivot and can be coupled in a rotationally fixed manner to a shaft extension body consisting of at least one extension element, via a detachable coupling whose interacting parts are connected to one another in a rotationally fixed manner when the coupling is closed and in a positively locking manner in the axial direction. The shaft extension body (17, 27), which is arranged on the same axis as the drive shaft and is connected in a rotationally fixed manner thereto, has, at least at one end, a coupling piece (23) which produces a positively locking connection in the axial direction and is coupled to a correspondingly constructed coupling mating piece (24) of the component which is adjacent at this end of the shaft extension body. <IMAGE>
