As can easily be seen in the example in Figure 1, an electrical relay having a housing (10) in which two contact tabs (20 and 21) are mounted and having a melting fuse (30) which is seated externally on the housing (10), and having each of its two connecting contacts (35) being connected to one of the two contact tabs (20 and 21), is constructed according to the invention such that the fuse (30) is a fuse with plug contacts (35) running parallel to one another, and the plug contacts (35) are connected inside the housing (10) to the two contact tabs (20 and 21) located there. In consequence, the contact points between the fuse and the contact tabs are well protected, the fitment and removal of a fuse is simple, and good thermal emission to the environment is ensured. <IMAGE>
