In a manicuring device, a cutting unit serving for the care of finger and/or toe nails has two cutting elements which are arranged adjacently and can be driven in opposite directions in such a way that the nail can be treated by both cutting elements simultaneously. Additionally, a guide plate serves as an end-side covering for the cutting elements. It is arranged in such a way that the guide surface of the guide plate is situated on the outside of the guide plate facing away from the cutting elements.
