PURPOSE:To reduce preparation time by a method wherein a diaphragm fitting ring is provided detachably for a diaphragm chuck body so that it can be suited for various kinds of works. CONSTITUTION:When a work is decided, a feeler 20a, a pusher edge 19a, an edge face stopper 17 selected from the items previously prepared, are fitted intentionally by turns to the work. If a slave claw 15 is fitted to a master claw 12, the centering accuracy of the slave claw is confirmed before it is fitted to the chuck body and adjusted by a bolt 14 if necessary and a fitting ring 6 is fitted concentrically by the chuck body 3 and the short taper. When the variety of the work is changed, a diaphragm member 5 is removed from the fitting ring 6 and each suitable replacement part of selected, to fix on the ring 6. |
