PURPOSE:To contrive to improve the accuracy of position detection by a method wherein the position detection for compensation is performed while the driving part of a tool head is in feed operation with slow speed and not being locked so as to minimize the sliding resistance of the driving part and the influence of compliance. CONSTITUTION:Detecting parts 8Z and 8Y, each of which respectively has a magnetic detecting part 16 detecting the passing of a magnetizer 11 and a detecting member 10, in which the magnetizer 11 guided shiftably in Y-direction and Z-direction respectively is installed, are arranged at an arbitrary reference position on a table 1 in order to detect the thermal displacement between a reference tool 9 and the table 1 by touching the reference tool 9 against the detecting parts 8Z and 8Y. By the way, the reference tool 9 is housed in a magazine and is installed on the tool head 3 by means of an automatic tool changer, when necessary. In the detecting part 8Z, the detecting member 10, which is slidable in the direction indicated with the arrows A and B (Z-direction) and at the tip of which the magnetizer 11 is installed, is guided by a holding member 12. When the detecting member 10 is shifted in the direction of the arrow A, the magnetizer 11 gradually starts to oppose to the magnetic detecting part 16 and a signal is sent out to a signal processing circuit at the state, that the magnetizer 11 completely opposes to the magnetic detecting part 16, in order to execute a desired processing. |
