A safety lock, especially a lock for a customer safe-deposit box, is equipped with a housing, with one or more tumblers actuated by means of a customer key, with a slide and with a locking lever. The locking lever is pivoted by means of a magnet electrically excitable by the bank via a switch contact and arranged in the housing. In the front region, projecting into the closing strip in the closed state, of the bolt nose of the lock bolt is arranged a contact point which is connected electrically to the magnet and which, in the closed state, is in contact with a contact lead arranged in the closing strip. The magnet is earthed by way of the door hinge.
