The arrangement for controlling control amplifiers in sound-mixing desks explained in the text which follows relates to sound processing systems which have a large number of input channels which in some cases must be influenced simultaneously or successively in order to obtain a mixed signal which is sound-aesthetically correct. The control amplifier is controlled by level controls. Since 30 and more input channels are no rarity, the mechanical width of all the level controls to be manually adjusted exceeds the dimensions which are within the handling range of one person or the legally permissible width in transmission paths. It is never necessary to adjust all the level controls at the same time by different amounts; it is therefore possible to use a lesser number of level controls as input channels and to switch these in each case to the required input channels if the level setting (level control value) is stored. The storage is carried out in the control amplifier which exists for the respective input channel. The drawing below shows a level control (1) with a switch-over device (2) and five control amplifiers (3, 4, 5, 6, 7) for the sound signals. <IMAGE>
