Connection unit for removing and re-inserting on a tool located under water. Provided between the tool and a mobile control device is a purely mechanical power transmission which on the one hand has mechanical actuating devices (15) arranged on a receiver section (4) of the connection unit firmly connected to the tool and on the other hand has mechanical control members (24) arranged on an active section (6) of the connection unit connected to the movable control device, a purely mechanical power transmission (18, 19-22, 23) also being advantageously provided between the two sections (4, 6) of the connection unit. <IMAGE>
