In order to transport a sub-stack of individual stacked elements which can be taken out of a larger delivery stack, a U-shaped transverse bar (11) is attached at the lower end of the vehicle frame (1) of a transport cart in front of the wheels (2), said bar bearing a first gripping element (17) which can be re-inserted in its longitudinal direction and a second gripping element (18) which can be tensioned in its longitudinal direction. The two gripping elements each have an angular rod (19 and 21, respectively). The gripping flange (23) of the adjustable gripping element (18) has a sharpened outer edge and at its lower end a likewise sharpened leaf projection (39) with which it can engage into a parting line of the delivery stack. Its gripping element (21) is clamped against the gripping flange (22) of the gripping element (17) by means of a toggle mechanism by swivelling an angled lever (59) whose lever arm (92) comes to rest in the clamped position just under the struts (4). Thus, starting from the left-hand corner of a stack, a plurality of sub-stacks consisting in each case of one or more stack columns can be removed, progressing towards the right, and conveyed easily and quickly close to the place of destination. <IMAGE>
