PURPOSE:To enable the easy mounting of surface layers to a uniform thickness and to enable the easy coincidence of the plane sizes of a casting mold before and after chipping by specifying both end shapes of four sheets of casting mold bodies which form a square hollow part having R parts in the inside corner parts when combined. CONSTITUTION:Slits 4 for conduction of cooling water are cuts in a casting mold body 1 made of copper or a copper alloy from the rear surface thereof, and the joint surfaces thereof are joined to the adjacent bodies 1 to each other in such a way that the angle thereof assumes 45 deg.. The inside corner part 3 on the inner side in the joint parts of the two bodies 1 is rounded, and a heat resistant and abrasion resistant surface layer 2 applied with Ni or an Ni alloy and further Cr, etc. is mounted on the inside wall surface and the joint surfaces at both ends of the bodies 1. The bodies 1 have no recesses; therefore, in the stage of mounting the layer 2 by plating or the like, the layer 2 can be mounted to a uniform thickness without difficulty in the local mounting of the layer 2. Since the surfaces of the bodies 1 are joined at 45 deg. angle, the plane of the casting mold is maintained at a same size before and after chipping if the inside surfaces of the respective bodies are chipped by a thickness (a) and the joined surface by a.Cos 45 deg. thickness in the stage of repair chipping. |
