PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a roll chock, and to perform easily the operation of roll exchange, by transferring the retaining fucntion of the roll chock against a thrusting force to a roll coupling device. CONSTITUTION:The rotating force of a spindle 18 is transmitted to a work roll through a gear coupling 20, a connecting cap 13, and a torque transmission part 10. A thrusting force acting on the work roll is transmitted to a housing 1 through steel balls 11, the connecting cap 13, a thrust bearing 22, a case 23, and a shifting device. In exchanging rolls, a slide ring 15 is slidden to the side of the spindle 18 by contracting a mounting and dismounting cylinder 28. In the state that the ring 15 is slidden, the end part 3 of the shaft and a coupling device 5 can be separated because the restriction by the steel ball 11 is released. |
