In a process for purifying air polluted with acid vapours during the polishing of crystal glass with the use of acids in a polishing station, the contaminated air removed by suction from the polishing station is purified in a purification station by removal of the acid vapours converted into liquid acids and is returned to the polishing station in a closed circulation. The circulation is repeated many times. After completion of the polishing process, the air from the polishing station is discharged after passage through a purification apparatus connected to the atmosphere.
