<p>Disclosed are a method and apparatus for stteing an information input zone wherein a tablet 13a is used to enter the coordinates of a point located on a drawing DR placed on the tablet 13a, as well as control information, namely information other than coordinates. The method includes setting an information input zone MN by affixing a sheet member having a plurality of areas recorded thereon, at a predetermined position of the tablet 13a aurface, specifying the position of each of the areas and assigning each area a particular meaning, presetting a specific area of the plurality of areas as an area for establishing a control information input mode, and generating a signal indicative of control information by discriminating that a prescribed area has been designated following designation of the specific area, the control information having meaning corresponding to the that assigned to said prescribed area. The invention makes it possibel to utilize the surface of the tablet 13a in an effective manner and facilitates the entry of information.</p> |
