PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration in the display performance of a liq. crystal display panel due to light, by forming a capacitor with an electrically conductive transparent material and an insulating film. CONSTITUTION:One electrode 4 is a conventional transparent electrode of tin oxide, indium oxide or the like or an electrode made of a thin diamond film. The other electrode 6 is formed on the electrode 4 with silicon oxide 5 in-between using a similar material. Since this capacitor is transparent, it can be formed over the whole region of an image element. Accordingly, the capacity of a capacitor for storing data is increased, so deterioration in the display performance of a liq. crystal display panel having a switching transistor array due to light is prevented. |
