PURPOSE:To run a tape at minimized contact section and to attain very smooth running, by eliminating all tape guide pins, and determining the tape running path only with a tape contact member progressing into an opening. CONSTITUTION:All tape guide pins near openings 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 are eliminated, and a member restricting the tape running path is eliminated between tape guide rollers 12 and 13. The tape running path is determined only with a pinch roller 27 progressing from the openings 5, 6, 8, a recording and reproducing head 28 and an erase head 29. Thus, sliding with friction is liminted to the heads 28, 29 only, the running path is not bent in zigzag, the friction load is reduced, and the generation of slip stick is minimized, allowing to obtain very smooth tape running. |
