PURPOSE:To use a sound signal as explanation information for each image pickup scene, by providing a means for time compression of the sound signal and recording the time-compressed sound sound signal on a recording medium in accordance with a video signal and subjecting the sound signal to time expansion to read out the sound signal at the reproducing time. CONSTITUTION:The picture of an object is converted to a picture signal by an image pickup element 1, and the picture signal is amplified to a prescribed amplitude by a video amplifying circuit 2, and a synchronizing signal is added to the picture signal, and the picture signal is subjected to FM modulation in a video modulating circuit 3, and the video signal is recorded on a prescribed track of a floppy disc 5 by a video head 4. An aural signal A1 gathered by a mike or the like is amplified by a sound amplifying circuit 6 and is applied to an A/D converter 7 and is converted to a digital signal with a prescribed sampling frequency and is subjected to time compression by clock pulses in a compressing and storage circuit 8. This time-compressed sound signal is subjected to FM modulation in a sound modulating circuit 9 and is recorded on a sound track of the disc 5. At the reproducing time, the compressed sound signal is subjected to time expansion in a storage and expanding circuit 17 by clock pulses. |
