PURPOSE:To carry out the positioning of the captioned adjustable gauge in a short period of time and at a high precision, when a glass bulb and an electron gun are sealed and processed, being supported by a sealing jig. CONSTITUTION:A lock-member 23 is positioned in a locked state so as to have cylinder 22a locked; in this case, measuring instruments 31x, 31y of measuring gauges 29x, 29y respectively for displacement along the x, y directions are set to each standard value and their zero points are adjusted. Next, an adjustable gauge 20 is mounted to a sealing jig 6, and while the lock-member 23 is still being locked, a chuck click 11 is moved toward x1, x2 directions and y1, y2 directions, so as to make adjustment to barely seize the cylinder 22a slightly. Thereafter, the lock-member 23 is lowered and released from the locked state. Here, if center-silippage occurs, the values of measuring instruments 31x, 31y are off the standard values mentioned above; therefore, the chuck click 11 is again moved along the x1, y1, y2 directions to adjust said values of the measuring instruments so that said values may become the standard ones; when said values become the standard ones, the positioning thereof is completed. After that, the above adjustable gauge 20 is dismounted from the sealing jig 6, the electron gun and the glass bulb are mounted on said jig 6 and the sealing process is carried out. |
