PURPOSE:To improve knocking detecting capability, by attaching a part, which can mechanically amplify the vibration in a knocking frequency band and transmitting the result to a knock sensor between an engine and the knock sensor. CONSTITUTION:The mechanical amplifier part 1 is attached to a cylinder block 2 of the cylinder by a screw. The vibration detecting type resonating knock sensor 3 utilizing piezoelectric effect is attached to the part 1 by a screw. The part 1 comprises the attaching screw 1a to the cylinder block 2, a bottom part 1b, a cylindrical drum part 1c, and an upper part 1e which has a screw hole 1d for attaching the knock sensor and is contacted with the knock sensor 3. The thickness, length, and diameter of each part are selected and the spring constant and mass of each part are adjusted. Thus the resonating point of each part is approximately made to agree with a peak frequency Fo in the average frequency band of the knocking vibration. The resonating point of the entire part 1 is made to be the peak frequency Fo in the average frequency band. Q value is set to be about 10-20dB. |
