PURPOSE:To obtain an antiserum reagent stable for a long time by treating an antiserum with a water-soluble high polymer (e.g. polyethylene glycol). CONSTITUTION:A water-soluble high polymer of formula (I) (which includes polyethylene glycol and polyvinyl alcohol, preferably polyethylene glycol 6,000) is dissolved in a buffer liquid of a buffer agent to meet the acidity requirement. After an antiserum and the treating liquid are mixed, the mixture is left alone at the room temperature for about 10min and then, separated centrifugally for about 20min. After the centrifugal separation, a supernatant is extracted as decantation to complete the treatment of the antiserum. The antiserum thus treated is diluted with a normal dilution agent for the antiserum to obtain an antiserum reagent stable without producing turbidity for a long time. |
