One aspect features metering the glass layer (6) into the pressure chamber (25) at substantially full width. Another aspect involves pressure sizing the glass layer (6) at temperatures above (2100 DEG F.) 1150 DEG C. . Yet another aspect includes widening the glass ribbon (6) following pressure sizing.
