A windshield wiper blade 10 made of a synthetic elastomeric material includes an elongate body 25 having wiping ribs 14,16,18,20,22 projecting outwardly therefrom. The outer ends of ribs 14,16,20,22 lie generally along an arc of radius E. Wiping rib 18 has a greater radial length than the other ribs and may have a concave end face 32. A mounting rib 26 integral with the body projects outwardly therefrom and provides a longitudinally extending hinge about which the body can swing in either direction, the arrangement being such that when the blade moves against a windshield rib 18 and the rib or ribs on the side thereof facing in the direction of movement engage the windshield. <IMAGE> |
