PURPOSE:To obtain an optical information recording memory available for high-density and high-speed recording, by irradiating a highpolymer film which has molecules oriented by drawing formation with laser light, relaxing the molecule orientation locally and recording an information signal, and detecting variations in reflectivity, index of reflection, and index of double reflection and reproducing the information. CONSTITUTION:The high polymer film 1 having molecules oriented by drawing is irradiated with the laser beam 2 through a polarizer 3 and the molecule orientation is relaxed by the drawing of the part irradiated with the laser light to cause variations in reflectivity, index of reflection, and index of double reflection, recording an information signal. For reproduction, effect such as polarization, diffraction, and interference is detected to read information. Thus, the information storage memory which performs recording and reproduction optically is obtained. |
