<p>PURPOSE:To obtain an olefin in high yield with the suppressed hydrogenation of the resultant product, by thermally decomposing a mixed gas of hydrocarbons having a specific molar ratio between methane and hydrogen and concentration at a specific partial pressure of the hydrogen, reaction temperature and residence time, and quenching the reaction product. CONSTITUTION:A hydrocarbon raw material is fed to a thermal decomposition apparatus 2 having a heating zone and a reaction zone by a pump 1, and reacted in an atmosphere containing a mixed gas of methane with hydrogen at >=0.2mol ratio between the methane and hydrogen and hydrocarbons in at least <=40mol% concentration of the methane and hydrogen, >=3 bars partial pressure of the hydrogen at 800-1,200 deg.C outlet temperature of a reactor 2 and 5-300 milliseconds residence time in the reactor 2, and the reaction fluid 10 is then quenched in a quenching heat exchanger 3 and separated into the gaseous phase 12 and the liquid phase 13 in a gas-liquid separator 4. The gaseous and the liquid phases 12 and 14 are respectively fed to a gas separating and purifying apparatus 5 and a liquid-phase separating and purifying apparatus 6 to purify and separate an olefin.</p> |
