PURPOSE:To execute a time difference pressure input without minding a simultaneous depression by both hands, by providing a lock mode switching means, on a Chinese character input device of a multistage shift system or a full key system, which is executed by depressing a letter key and a selection key. CONSTITUTION:On letter keys 3, Chinese characters of 8-15 characters are displayed respectively, and an array of these Chinese characters corresponds to that of selection keys 4. In case of a nonlock mode, a Chinese character is specifically inputted by pressing a letter key and a selection key at the same time. In this case, when a mode designating switch 19 is changed over to a lock mode, a letter key code pushed previously is stored, a key pressed state is virtually held, and combination with a selection key which is depressed next becomes effective. It is unnecessary to depress and hold a letter key with a right hand, and the next character is indexed and depressed with a right hand, therefore, a high speed input is executed. |
