PURPOSE:To make it possible to scan the entire region of the cap side and the body side of a capsule by a single sensor, by integrally forming plural illumination systems mutually projecting symmetrical lights to a part to be inspected and a photoelectric converter. CONSTITUTION:Light from a lamp 21 is propagated to a light guide 22 and projected to the surface to be inspected of a capsule 1 from the leading ends 32, 33 of the light guide 22. Irregular refraction light from the surface of the capsule 1 reaches a photodiode 24 through a condensing lens 25 and an a aperture 26. On the other hand, because the capsule 1 is advanced to a direction shown by an arrow 34 while rotated, the surface of the capsule can be optically scanned in a spiral form by an inspector 20. In addition, the light axis of the light sensor 27 is made almost vertical with respect to the axis of the capsule 1 and inclined at an angle of alpha deg. with respect to the light axises of the leading ends 32, 33 of the light guide 22. By this mechanism, the same inspection wave form can be obtained even when the capsule is conveyed either from the cap side thereof or the body side thereof. |
