PURPOSE:To judge the number of sheets of paper as to whether the number is one sheet or a plurality of sheets, by holding the paper by two pads with a specified force, and detecting the fact whether the paper slides relatively under the action of another specified force. CONSTITUTION:The pads 2 and 3 are provided at the tip parts of two supporting bodies 6 and 7, which are relatively opened and closed. When a current is conducted through an electromagnet 11, an armature 13 is moved in the direction of an arrow 14' and contacted with the electromagnet 11 closely. When the current conduction is stopped, the armature 13 is returned by the force of a spring member 12. When the number of sheets of paper held by the pads 2 and 3 is one, the armature 13 is not moved even though the current to the electromagnet 11 is stopped. When the number of sheets of the paper is two or more, the armature 13 is moved. When the movement of the armature 13 is detected, it is found that whether the number of sheets of the paper is one or two or more. |
