PURPOSE:To form the uniform polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) porous body, by dispersing fibrous powder of unburned PTFE in a liquid having a surface tension of a specified value or more, removing the liquid from the obtained admixture, and thereafter burning it. CONSTITUTION:About 20wt% or less of fibrous PTFE powder (e.g. F-103) made by Daikin Kogyo Co. Ltd.) is added to the liquid (e.g. 1,3-butanediol), whose surface tension is 36dyne/cm or more. The admixture is stirred at a high speed, cohesion of secondary particles is resolved, and dispersion is made as fibrous primary particles. Then the liquid is removed from the obtained admixture, and it is preheated at about 200-300 deg.C when required so as to remove the liquid completely. Thereafter the admixture is burned and the porous body is obtained. |
