PURPOSE:To detect ghost even if a detection signal is saturated and to improve the detection capability of ghost, by applying the potential corresponding to the center of dynamic range of a ghost component to the most preceding tap of a specified section of a differential circuit obtaining the differential component of a ghost eliminating device. CONSTITUTION:The ghost component of a video signal is detected at a subtraction circuit 13 and an amplifier circuit 18 by using the specified section of the video signal, the ghost component is applied to difference circuits 28l-29m, and the position of ghost and its level are detected with the difference of the ghost component. This output is weighted to the output of delay cicuits 8, 11 with weight circuits 9l-9n, 12l-12m, the outputs are summed at an addition circuit 26, and an erase signal is applied to a synthesizer 6. The output of the circuit 18 of the ghost eliminating device is applied to a circuit being the most preceding in the circuits 28l-28m via a switch 32 controlled with buffer circuits 31, 34 and a sampling pulse forming circuit 30, allowing to ensure the detection of the ghost signal when the detection signal is saturated. |
