PURPOSE:To provide a continuous casting device which prevents the decrease in the temps. in both end parts of an ingot, by the constitution wherein the corner parts at both ends in the transverse direction of the ingot are screwed down and are prevented from contacting guide rolls on the upper stream side from the part near the point where the solidification of the ingot is completed. CONSTITUTION:Screw down rolls 8 for screwing down the corner parts at both ends in the transverse direction of an ingot 6 are installed at least one on the upper stream side from the part near the point where the solidification of the ingot 6 is completed, in a curved type continuous casting installation wherein the molten steel 3 in ladle 1 is charged into a casting mold 4 through a tundish 2, is curved downward and is drawn continuously as an ingot 6 from the lower part of said mold by means of many ingot guide rolls 6 and the completely solidified ingot 6 is cut at a prescribed length with a cutter 7. Said rolls 8 are mounted freely rotatably with roll bodies 8b having tapered screw-down faces on the stationary central shafts 8a and screw down the corner parts of the ingot 6 guided by guide rolls 11 at the rolling reduction that can be varied as desired by means of cylinders 10, thereby preventing the contact of the ingot with the rolls 5. |
