PURPOSE:To enable to rapidly and effectively protect the coils of a stepping motor by detecting the energized state of the coil when the energizing timing of the motor is not detected and outputting a malfunction signal. CONSTITUTION:When a motor drive command is applied to close a relay contact 4, chopping operation is performed by transistors 2, 3 and a comparator 15, chopping operation is performed by transistors 5, 6 and a comparator 16, coils L1-L4 are sequentially excited, thereby rotating the motor 1. When transistors 2, 3, 5, 6 or comparators 15, 16 are damaged in this operating state, a malfunction signal is outputted from a comparator 23 or 24. When transistors 9-12 are damaged, FF circuits 31, 32, 40, 41 are set by the outputs of the comparators 26, 27, 35, 36, and a malfunction signal is outputted. |
