PURPOSE:To suppress capacity deterioration by coating the one side of a grid using a lead-calcium alloy with a paste and then pressing it, and by absorbing water from the opposite side of the paste coated side at the same time. CONSTITUTION:The one side of grid using a lead-calcium alloy is coated with a paste, then the grid is pressed with a roller to enhance contact of the grid and the paste. When the grid is pressed, water is absorbed with a roller located on the opposite side of the paste coated side. Since water coming out from the interface of the grid and the paste, when they are pressed with the roller, is completely removed, an active mass in the vicinity of the grid is densified, and contact of the active mass with the grid is enhanced. Therefore, by relatively easy process, capacity deterioration is suppressed and the cycle life in a low rate is improved. |
