AEROBIC ANAEROBIC SLUDGE DIGESTION PROCESS

摘要

Excessive amts. of activated sludge accumulating in water-treatment plants are degraded in a 2-stage process comprising aerobic and anaerobic zones for stabilization and safe disposal or utilization of the sludge as a soil amendment. The sludge is aerated with O-enriched air in the aerobic zone at 45-75≰C to maintain an O content of 2 mg/L. the partially stabilized sludge is transferred into the anaerobic zone, in which the content of biol. degradable volatile suspended substances i decreased to<20% of their initial content; CH4 was generated and served as a fuel for heating the sludge in the aerobic zone.
