PURPOSE:To enable easy cabling by reinforcing the juncture thereof by silicone molding, and covering the surface thereof with a heat shrinkable tube. CONSTITUTION:The nylon covering of an optical fiber core 1 and the silicone covering of an optical fiber strand 2 are respectivey removed to expose glass fibers 3, and the fibers are joined to each other in a juncture 4. Silicone molding 9 having about the same diameter as the diameter in the silicone covering of the strand 2 is applied of the same or similar resin as the resin of said silicone covering on the fibers 3 in the juncture 4. Thereafter, a heat shrinkable tube 7 is moved to the position of the juncture and is heated to shrink, thereby forming a shrunk tube 10. Since the juncture is reinforced in the above-mentioned way, the construction of the juncture is the same as the construction in the core parts, and the cabling is accomplished easily. |
