PURPOSE:To improve reliability and durability of a portion for detecting the position of paper guides by providing a variable resistance, the resistance value of which is varied corresponding to the movement of paper guides, and converting the resistance value of the variable resistance into a digital signal. CONSTITUTION:Paper guides 2, 3 are slidably mounted on the upper surface of a tray main body 1, and a mover 10 adapted to move in a body with the paper guides is disposed on the lower surface of the main body 1. The main body is provided with a variable resistance 21, the resistance value of which is varied corresponding to the movement of the mover 10. The resistance value of the variable resistance 21 is converted into a digital signal by signal converting means. Therefore, as compared with conventional optical detecting means such as photo sensor or the like, the position of the paper guides can be detected more assuredly, and the reliability and durability of a position detecting portion is improved highly. |
