PURPOSE:To obtain suitable damping force in response to the live load of a vehicle by a structure wherein orifices are provided in a piston and a bottom body respectively and at the same time a sleeve, which is coupled with a spring and serves for opening and closing said orifices, is also provided. CONSTITUTION:The first orifice 22 to communicate to an upper chamber 6 with a lower chamber 7 is provided in the piston 5 equipped with a damping force generating means 4 and the second orifice 23 to communicate the interior of a cylinder 1 with a reservoir chamber 9 is provided in the bottom body 13 equipped with a similar damping force generating means 12 as the means 4. In addition, dashpots 24 and 25 are formed between the piston 5 and the bottom body 13. At the same time, the sleeve 27, which is coupled with the spring 28 and selectively opens and closes said first and second orifices. |
