PURPOSE:To improve the accuracy of measurement, by measuring the radiation of a stuck test liquid layer and measuring the thickness of said layer simultaneously, evacuating the ratio of the self-absorption and correcting the counting rate of radiations. CONSTITUTION:As the rotary drum 4 in a monitor tank 1 rotates, part of the test liquid 5 entering the tank 1 through a soln. inlet 2 and comes out through an outlet 3, sticks as a thin layer of a stuck test liquid layer 6 on the surface of the drum 4. The radiations of the layer 6 are made incident to a radiation detector 7, and are counted with a cable 9, a preamplifier 10, a linear amplifier 11, a discriminator 12 and a scaler 13. The ultrasonic transducer 22 in the drum 4 radiates the output ultrasonic signal of an ultrasonic wave transmitter and receiver 16 upward. The ultrasonic waves reflect on the contact surfaces between a rolling contactor 23 and the drum 4, the surface of the drum 4 and the surface of the layer 6, and are made incident to the transducer 22, by which pulse signals are formed. The reflection time is measured with a time discriminator 17, and this time signal is inputted to a distance converter 18, by which the thickness of the layer 6 is measured. The errors in the measurement by this thickness are corrected and the accurate counting rate for the thickness is determined. |
