PURPOSE:To increase the strength of the connecting rod and further decrease the weight thereof by disposing a reinforcing fiber so that the load due to the explosive power and inertia force of the engine is supported more effectively. CONSTITUTION:A stem 4 connecting a large end part 3 and a small end part 2 of the connecting rod is provided with an inner stem column 1 and an outer stem column 5 which are made of a fiber reinforced complex material. In the above described stem column 1, the fibers are arranged so as to mainly support the compression load upon the explosion, and fibers are arranged so as to mainly support the inertia force of pulling. The end part of the stem plate 5 extended to the side of the large end part of the connecting rod is disposed below the lower side of the upper surface portion member 6c at the large end part constituted by other member. |
