PURPOSE:To buffer a rise in the internal pressure in an inside cavity due to a change-over of a lock-up clutch from the disengaged state to the engaged state and reduce the shock generated at the time of engaging the clutch, by providing an accumulator connected to the inside cavity for the lock-up clutch. CONSTITUTION:The accumulator 23 is provided with a cylinder 24 and a piston 26 energized by a pressure-regulating spring 25 within the cylinder 24, the cylinder 24 is connected to an oil passage L3 communicated to the inside cavity 5, and the supply of an oil into the cavity 5 by changing over a clutch-controlling valve 12 to a position for engaging the clutch is retarded by moving the piston 26 against the spring 25. Accordingly, the contacting pressure on the input casing 2 side of a clutch plate 9 is gradually raised in a buffering range for the rise in the internal pressure, so that a smooth engagement of the clutch can be achieved. |
