The saw bit cuts stone having a sintered body comprised of abrasive particles and diamond particles, together with a powdered metal agglomerate. The body is fixed to a steel plate, its front and back faces incorporating open ended grooves. The grooves on the front face may be offset from those on the back face to form an undulating profile, and the plate takes the form of a disc or a band. In the case of the tool with a disc plate the body may be sintered to maintain a circular piece of metal mesh in each face, the mesh making contact with a disc edge zone of reduced thickness. |
