<p>The installation is of the type which comprises a chopping/ mincing machine which may deliver the fragmented meat via a reconstituting machine. The installation is contained in a thermally-insulated, sealed cabinet. A refrigerating unit is provided to cool the interior of the cabinets. A peltier effect module is used as the refrigeration unit. The module is installed in a wall of the cabinet with the cooling side of the module facing inwards and the heating side of the module in the exterior atmos. Within the cabinet air is treated to make it aseptic after which it is circulated through the cabinet, partic. in the vicinity of the discharge end of the meat-chopping machine. Pref. the Peltier effect module is installed with its cold face directed towards the body of the chopping machine. At the same time, the exterior face of the module i.e. the hot face, is available for defrosting of food prod. Pref. circulated air is made aseptic by exposure to radiation from an ultra-violet lamp. The installation is much less bulky than one which uses vapour compression refrigeration. The Peltier effect module makes the installation so compact that it can be presented as a packaged unit operating on built-in electric batteries.</p> |
