The machine for hardening soft ground, has an elongate agitation shaft with an agitation vane at a lower portion. The shaft is rotatably fastened to an elongate support cylinder, and the upper end of the shaft is connected to a rotary drive unit. A hardener supply unit discharges a hardener in the vicinity of the agitation vane. Brackets on outer circumferential surfaces of upper and lower end portions of the support cylinder project outward. Pairs of the upper and lower brackets are joined together via jacks, the brackets of a pair being vertically opposed to each other. The jacks can be expanded and contracted to correct the direction in which a lower end portion of the machine is inserted into the soft ground.
