PURPOSE:To make it possible to transfer a character or a symbol of wear resistibility on the surface of a key cap base material by such an arrangement wherin a transfer sheet in which an ink pattern layer cotaining heat transferable dyestuffs is formed is placed on the surface of a key cap base material, and the sheet is pressed with a pad for transferring and it is heated and processed. CONSTITUTION:A transfer sheet 3 composed of a base sheet 1 made of polyethylene terephthalate, etc. and a pattern layer 2 in which characters or symbols are formed with ink containing heat transferable dyestuff is placed on a key cap base material 4 made of such a material that can be dyed by heat transferable dyestuff, e.g. polyethylene terephthalate, etc. so that the pattern layer 2 opposes thereto. Next, it is caused to tightly adhere to its surface by pressing the sheet with a pad 5 for transferring, and thermally processed, and by this, the heat transferable dyestuff is thermally diffused and a desired pattern of character and symbol is formed on the surface of the key cap base material 4. By peeling the base sheet 1 off, a key cap on which characters or symbols which are not smudged and excellent in wear resistibility are formed can be obtained. |
