PURPOSE:To obtain colored polyester yarns at a low cost continuously even in a small lot size, by applying a specific treating agent and a colorant to undrawn polyester yarns, and drawing the resultant yarns. CONSTITUTION:(A) 3wt% or more, based on the yarn weight, at least one treating agent selected from a polyalkylene glycol and/or an addition derivative thereof and (B) a basic dye are applied to the undrawn polyester yarns dyeable with a basic dye to prepare colored polyester yarns. The undrawn polyester yarns are preferably prepared by copolymerizing ethylene terephthalate units as main repeating units with 0.5-5mol% 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate component, and the treating agent (A) is preferably a compound of formula II or III (X is a random copolymer of ethylene oxide with propylene oxide, etc.; R1-R4 are H or 1-18C alkyl, etc.). The drawing is preferably carried out in many stages. |
