PURPOSE:To make retrieval easy, by providing a retrieval data area to a part of a guide groove of an optical disc. CONSTITUTION:The guide groove 1 of the optical disc 2 has a retrieval data write area 1b in addition to a conventional data writing area 1a. An address 4 for a synchronizing signal and a retrieval area is written in the guide groove 1 in advance, a head address 5 of data storage, title and key word 6, a final address 7 are written by a disc device, and when the areas 5-7 are checked, the area where data are stored is grasped by the device. The data in the retrieval area 1b is read out and stored in the memory of the device at the retrieval and edited in, for example, ''AIUEO'' (Japapnese syllabary) order and displayed on a cathode-ray tube, allowing to simplify the retrieval. |
