Composite panels for external insulation of structural walls - of polyurethane foam cast over tile inserts and interstitial sand

Panels for insulating new or existing buildings are made by partly covering the base of a mould with shallow (20-25 mm) pieces of brick or tile, filling the gap between these inserts with a dry mixt. of coarse and fine sand and then flooding the upper part of the mould cavity with a foam forming resin. Used for mfr. of self-supporting weatherproof cladding to be applied to exterior wall surfaces, to insulate and protect the structural walls without requiring specialised or skilled installation. May be made using inserts to blend with brick, tile or stone walling. The panels may be mounted using mechanical fastenings (screws) or adhesives such as "SCHONOX SK" (RTM).
