摘要 The system contains an electronic reading device in every entrance and exit monitoring device (10, 11 and 18, 19) and at the point of payment (14). All the reading devices are connected to a central unit (27) which contains a clock (31) and a memory (29). Each entrance monitoring device is designed to issue individually encoded tokens (Fig. 2) whose code is read before they are issued, the time of issue being subsequently stored in a memory location, assigned to this code, in the central unit. When a token is inserted into the point of payment, the contents of the assigned memory location are interrogated and the parking time and parking fee calculated therefrom. After payment, the payment time is stored in the storage location corresponding to the token code. When the token is inserted into an exit monitoring device, its code is read again and the exit barrier is only opened if the time period between the stored payment time and the exit time is smaller than a predetermined tolerance time. Because this system uses an electronic memory for storing the variable data, in which memory the stored data are erased after reading and can be replaced by other data, the system does not require any consumables and can be produced with relatively cheap electronic components. <IMAGE>
