The arrangement relates to a telephone microphone with an acoustic resonator disposed in front of the diaphragm. The acoustic impedance of the resonator is reduced by means of bores in the speech inlet. The bores are also soundproofed by suitable measures on a large graduated circle at the edge, while the bores disposed on a smaller graduated circle in the centre remain unsoundproofed. As a result, interferences in sound wavelengths in the order of magnitude of the dimensions of the capsule are suppressed and the frequency response decay above the transmission range is positively affected.
