The invention relates to a cycle with a drive by means of an electric motor, the electric drive and the pedal drive acting on the gearing of the rear-wheel hub and the two drive systems being assigned free wheels, having a control device which controls the power of the electric motor, which can be switched on in relation to the drive power supplied by the rider via the pedal drive. The power of the motor is proportional to the power of the rider. Also, the percentage of the power exerted via the pedal, and of the power provided by the motor, of the overall drive power is electronically controlled and presettable by means of a setting device. The pedal drive and electric motor drive act on a common drive chain. <IMAGE>
