The face cutter head (1) consists of a basic cutter-head body (2) and a clamping ring (3). In this arrangement, the basic cutter-head body (2) has holding grooves (4, 5) for blades (6, 7). The side surfaces (8, 9, 11, 12) of the holding grooves (4, 5) run at an angle to a cutter-head radius (10, 13) crossing the holding groove (4, 5), and clamping screws (16, 17, 18, 19) which lead into the holding grooves (4, 5) are arranged in the clamping ring (3). In order to avoid rotation of the clamping ring (3), as a result of clamping forces, on the basic cutter-head body (2) as well as deformations at the basic cutter-head body (2), each holding groove (4, 5) is designed to hold a single blade (6, 7), and radially running threads (21, 22, 23, 24) for the clamping screws (16, 17, 18, 19) are arranged in the clamping ring (3). <IMAGE>
