In a melt-fixing device for electrophotographic copiers, the covering (6) of the fixing rolls is produced from a silicone rubber which crosslinks at room temperature and is sprayed onto an aluminium core (1), if appropriate provided with a bonding. After crosslinking the roll covering is polished and hardened, preferably at elevated temperature. In this way, a roll covering of particularly high resistance to temperature effects and mechanical stresses is obtained. <IMAGE>
